Went out this morning to find my front bike tire flat. I found where the leak was and realized it needed a new tube. I found that that the new tube I had in the garage was too big. I phoned up a bike tech friend and he brought me a new one and we traded. I had watched him put on the last one and realized it works better if the tube is already inflated a bit before installing. Worked well for me.
Stories my Grandfather Told me…
Spent a bit of time with Jack, a wonderful story teller and author. He shared this story about the first car he bought, a ‘hot rod’ 1950 Meteor.
Heard a friend’s husband was using a circular sander to strip a floor. I mentioned to the friend a belt sander would work better. They found the opportunity to make the suggestion and it was followed through on. Immediate benefits noted!
One of our student renters said she loves staying here because ‘It’s like a sanctuary. It’s so quiet.’ When she’s home she often plays great music from her room. Glad there’s such a fit.
During a heavy wind and rain storm we lost power for about 5 hours. Our back up power supply prevented flooding from our sump. It prompted taking a second look at it, and we’ve made improvements.
Our sump has a battery backup in case the power goes out. I conferred with a few people and discovered that a marine battery rather than a car battery will more suitable as it’s designed to go for longer without being recharged. The previous owner had always used car batteries.
I took my old battery with me to the store where I bought the new one and they not only took my old one back, but took $20 off the ‘green fee.’
