Transforming how you engage with your world

ConversationWorks’ mission is to help individuals, business and organizations find common ground by engaging  with their world through authentic conversation.

Foundation for the cards:

Have you ever noticed that asking the right questions is more important than having the right answers?  In fact, quality of  your day, your life is shaped by the quality of questions we ask ourselves and others.  New challenges  demand new questions and fresh conversations.

Success in all realms (personal, professional, community)  is tied to asking breakthrough questions. Innovation often begins with a breakthrough conversation. Asking a great question is like turning on a tap. The ideas flow, we become curious, and we start to think on a new level.
Quite simply, you have the opportunity to change your success in business, personal life and community life by thinking about questions in a new way.
Great open ended questions can transform your  conversations, a relationship, your organization and your experience.

Building Collaborative Tools
‘Everything is about collaboration in workplaces. But that’s actually what makes us human and allows us to build cities, create buildings, etc . In this age of digital it’s harder to transmit the information across organizations, about how to do collaboration, to know who has the information. Stories and story telling are a real good way to share that information across the company so they can collaborate. Large scale collaboration and small scale, are all important and these tools can help us with that.

The larger the company grows, the more difficult it is to keep the company culture. What’s more important than the culture is the story of the company and how people are all contributing to the story of the company and how to transmit that information.
This process and being part of it, is of direct relevance to the people because by them knowing what their co-workers are doing both at the next desk, the next office or around wth world, by them knowing the story, they can direct their energies so they are working on the same story together so it’s not a whole bunch of threads. It will be directly relevant to their day to day efforts. A lot of really good companies already have the idea of the company story where everyone knows the synopsis of the story that we are moving forward. Our tools help to communicate that to everyone, not just at the top level but throughout the organization.’

A list of our deliverables..

The passion of What’s Gone Well Today® is to make positive things happen, to further collaboration.

Redesigned web site to allow for a ‘lessons-learned’ approach to sharing and retrieving of information for registered users, to help them share and benefit from the experience of others

ConversationWorks’ What’s Gone Well  Today® is a question, in fact a movement  designed to shift the way we think about our days, to  re-frame our own experiences, and our attempts at daily connection with the people we meet and spend time with,  to go from ‘how’s it going’ to ‘what’s gone  well today?’ People find  more highlights  in their day,  and discover  deeper connections with one another.
WGWT helps people reflect on their own lives and what good is occurring today.

ConversationWorks is fine tuning its tool set to focus on creating collaborative processes. Specifically each of our 19 metaphors cards provides questions that help prompt sharing of our stories and discoveries about our  particular experiences.  User responses to any of the questions for each card will be stored, and be able to be retrieved by any registered user.

Benefits
The workshop gave ‘permission to think about things I don’t normally take time to think about.’ The head of a university research program commented part of the brilliance in WGWT , the disarming step is the questions it brings forward. The questions lowers the fear in the situations where academics find themselves, the questions and skills takes the fear out of the interlocutor, lowers the boundaries that isolate us.
