What students learned from Sarah Colwill at Monterey

I enjoyed hearing about Sarah’s experiences and her ups and downs of her life. A story that stood out for me was when she went to Thailand to help clean up after the Tsunami. I learned that risks aren’t always bad sometimes they can benefit your life and someone else. I was surprised at the facet that her dad inspired her for many things. Something that made me and Sarah have in common was that we are both inspired by our dads. Something that motivated me was that taking risks aren’t always bad. Sarah told us was helpful because it told us to go out in life and enjoy it to make it better for you and everyone else.

What I learned about this interview is that Sarah isn’t afraid of taking risks. One story that stood out is when she went to South East Asia and helped out with some of her friends, they helped some survivors from the Tsunami. What I learned about this interview is what she did to make the difference. I was surprised about what she did to help out others, taking risks, and what she sticked too. What I have in common with Sarah is that we both like to volunteer and what inspired me is that she takes risks. A lot of people are always scared to take risks (just like me) but she had enough courage to take risks, which I’m not afraid to take risks.

Sarah’s interview was very interesting. I enjoyed a lot of things. I thought that it was cool how she travelled to Thailand to help with the tsunami. Also, it was cool how she travels a lot. She takes pictures and draws to relax herself. The big ideas I got from that was taking risks don’t always need to be dangerous. Risks can help yourself and somebody else. Taking risks can make you brave.

When I heard Sarah speaking I could tell she was interested in hearing what we had to ask her. This interview was helpful because it showed me I can make a difference by travelling and doing things I like to do and I don’t have to do it alone.

After hearing what Sarah had say I definitely felt motivated to do some volunteering. I learned that if something isn’t going your way you just need to change your view point and be grateful for the good things that have happened. Something that surprised me was that Sarah went to Thailand and helped clean-up after the tsunami hit. Something I have in common with Sarah is that we both take risks and never back down if it’s something we really believe in. This was helpful to me because she is living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to.

I enjoyed a myriad of things I saw about this interview, for example I would like to volunteer like Sarah someday. One story that stood out for me was that Sarah took a big risk and went to Indonesia right after the big Tsunami. I learned that risk taking is good in the long term not just for you also for other people. What surprised me was that Sara took really extreme risks that is dangerous and very exciting. I love doing art projects and Sra also does art projects to relax her. Motivated me to go volunteer, so this summer I might volunteer at the beacon hill zoo. This was helpful because she inspired me to think about volunteering and trying to make a difference.
