Place, and the power and role of stories and story catching
Stories are critical to an organization because they reflect what’s important and ‘how you do business.’ They can reveal the heart, soul and core of the business, and indicate the parameters of possibility. Story catching is the art of recording stories in audio or video that result from asking authentic questions. These stories come directly from the speaker, and convey important information and experiences in an easily accessible format. The viewer can quickly select the exact stories desired on a need-to-know basis from an indexed video blog.
What we offer:
ConversationWorks offers media coaching, workshops on the power of personal story and story catching. Where appropriate our stories are stored on our Mobilizing Hope.com video platform. Participants and viewers applaud the quality of questions we build our interview around. Participants are energized and honoured by being deeply listened to. Our process results in fresh, direct, poignant and moving interviews focusing on projects and initiatives people are excited about.
The passion behind the project
We are passionate about unlocking and sharing the stories that lie within individuals and organizations. Basic to this work is asking the questions which draw out the ‘golden stories.’ While working with small groups which can be effective, the real leverage for cultural or organizational change happens when people’s experience is captured on video and posted on-line. The videos we shoot are usually up to about 2 minutes in length, and are lightly edited before posting. We coach clients to help them feel at ease on camera, and to shape their message.

ConversationWorks is the brand for a registered nonprofit charity, CS Interviews (Community School Interviews) Society, designed to help students and adults understand how the wider world works. Our charitable registration number is 84463 3180.
