Local business! Went to Lumberworld to inquire about raised bed kits. The fellow in the yard had made them himself. I asked about preserving them. I showed me a product made on Saltspring Island claiming to protect wood for a lifetime. I bought both and was able to phone the creator on Saltspring for some clarification in the instructions.
Taking a friend on a paddle board .. early morning Cadbora Bay inspirations.
Wanted to have a Story icon for a book I’m working on. Was able to draw this from a map graphic and then change the background to while. Big accomplishment as my graphics editing is not a strong suit.

Isn’t that what teaching is all about? No matter what side of the ‘desk’ we find ourselves.
I saw a young woman and a child playing with small bouncing balls. They were so spirited and joy-filled. I asked the woman what their relationship was, and she said, ‘He is my son.’
I said he is very fortunate to have such a playful, joyful mother. Turns out the boy is in chemo and they cherish every moment they have. She thanked me for my comments. It was impressive and meaningful.
