About seven years ago I gave our daughter our lawnmower. A few months ago she got a new electric , battery driven mower. Her husband asked me to find a new home for the old mower. This morning I put in on FB Marketplace and within a few hours someone recognized the brand as reputable and came and picked it up.
Special friendships
I passed two girls at 8 am in a mall before it was opened. They were carrying these large stuffed animals. I asked them what the story was. They were going to a friend’s 16th birthday party. ” We are committed.”
Each time I phone a fiend, she genuinely says ” Thanks so much for phoning me.”
Later in a text she wrote, “I am waiting for more amazing calls. Thie is the first summer that I have fun, health, friends,…… everything…
Spirit lifters
When I walked down a mall, a husband and wife were sitting at an outside table on their phones. When he saw our two pups he gestured and I asked them if they’d like to pat them. It totally changed the dynamic between the two of them. They actively engaged both pups and were so full of life and caring.
Three years ago a grandmother friend gave us this IKEA highchair she no longer needed. As our grandaughter no longer needs one, Loni thought of a friend with a younger grandchild who needed a highchair when he visits. She cleaned ours up and took it over . Her friend was just going to order this exact chair from IKEA. Great fit!
I decided to do my job searching in the library at the UVIC. When i was there, I figured out there is a free career service drop-in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 1 and 3pm for the UVic students and the alumni.
A gentleman there helped me very professionally. He knew about GIS mapping/my experience by chance. He explained all questions that I already had in my head.
Such a miracle!
