One question of the woman, ‘Pat’, beside us at the Phoenix Theatre lead to some wonderful conversations for my wife and me. Pat moved to town last week for a job at UVic. Great spirit of exploration.Shared a couple of events I’m putting on in the next while. She registered for one when she got home that night.
On becoming a man
With only a few months left, according to medical report, I was asked to record Eddie’s life stories with some of his family watching . They loved the process and subsequent family gatherings raved about them. I heard today that he passed on in January… and more of the videos were shared.
So pleased that the carpet installation turned out beautifully. I was all ready to do it myself.. but this saved me so much hassle. The installers were great guys, and the salesman a quality fellow who wants to come and see the completed job.
Got a FB event notification for the premiere of a music video I’d helped promote. Attended and had some great, surprising conversations. Really a great time.
The bartender at The University Club retired after about 20 years. His replacement was at the Club yesterday. She’s worked there for some time, but is so surprised and pleased to have been selected. They also had new background music in the lounge…. all of this added to the experience.
What a treat to be invited to a friend’s classroom at my school to do an art project with the kids!! We played with watercolour paints and we did an ocean/sky scene that went from dark to light meeting at the horizon. We also added hills that went from dark to light and trees in the foreground with details…..so much fun!!
I get to go in at the end of this week to frame the art and visit with the staff and students, looking forward to it!!
