What’s Gone Well Today? ®
Here’s an easy way to recognize others… and in turn change how we look at our day, and our life.
When has someone made your day with the service they’ve given, or something they’ve said or done for you? Sharing these moments may inspire others. They lift the spirit!
On another note asking someone What’s Gone Well Today? ®, becomes life-changing. Conversations have a fresh, inspiring perspective.
In the larger picture our tools help individuals and organizations become more empathetic. We would love to hear from you! Please share an experience that’s gone well in your day.
Mistakes are for learning
So encouraged when I heard an artist tell me that artists will often make ten mistakes on a piece or part of a picture before it’s deemed acceptable. These artists’ approach give me permission to continue in my ‘work’…..
Making connections easier
A challenge with texting people from outside of Canada is that Telus charges a premium for each text. Someone introduced me to WhatsApp, and I in turn ask house guests from outside Canada to use that to stay in touch. Works so well.
Histories renewed quickly on the bus
Waiting for the bus when I was downtown, even though I could have biked home. On the bus a young woman was sitting facing me and we began talking. She then asked if I was from Comox. Turns out she had been in Rainbow Youth Theatre and speech arts when we were there over ten years ago. It was a great conversation, including some of the important work she’s doing as a music therapist. Interesting that she and I had never talked while we lived in the same town.
The wonder of teaching.. and learning
When I saw that Loni was going to do this experiment ( as part of her vocabulary development exercises) I was able to record it. A number of people have seen the video and now plan to do the experiment with their own children.
I love how involved her student is in this experiment.
This student tried this at home, and found the egg didn’t go all the way in to the bottle.
after some consulting he will try it again.
Great career development idea
Talked to a new lawyer ( 4 months into it) with a prestigious firm in town. He said he chose interesting work during the summer and that helped position him for such a great hire.
I had first met him at this morning mixer about two years ago when he was planning on producing Biketown, a tribute to Victoria’s cycling community. Always good to hear about people’s progress.
Timely support for a sideways moment at UVic
When I came out from a breakfast meeting at UVic I found my bike had been locked up with a neighbouring bike. I went back to the event and had a good chat with a woman. Then I returned to my bike and saw a
UVic grounds-crew passing by. She told me to contact security. We then had a great chat about her current stint with UVic. Turns out we had talked a few years ago. It was like a reunion.
The security crew soon came by and was so helpful. Turns out this happens 2-3 times a day during the Fall session.
