A downstairs tenant texted me to tell me he needed my help as the bathroom mirror had fallen off the wall, and was in pieces on the floor. Turned out it had had only been held on with glue. We both worked on ‘picking up the pieces.’ Appreciated I could drop it in the city garbage can as no human hands pick it up from the curb. I found a reputable glass company and ordered a mirror. The tenant and I installed it, along with clips as well as tape to hold it in place.
Great having his help!
Our tenant texted to say one of the elements in his stove top didn’t work. I took the element to a parts place and they analyzed it and said it was fine. ‘Check out the switch’.
The tenant and I took the stovetop apart and found a wire had disintegrated. I got new connector clips and used a wire segment from an extension cord. All fixed up. Lots of fun working together.
An olympian athlete stayed with us for 10 days. When he left he didn’t have room for this supplement Muscle Milk. One of Loni’s students who had heard about him in town, gladly took the 1/3 full container .
The interview I did with Gregor Craigie about Stories We Tell Our Children was broadcast today just before the 7:30 news. Great slot. A number of people, some from out of town, told me they’d seen it. It can be heard here.
At a book launch at UVic, a few people were acknowledged from the audience. One of these was Dr. Fred Roots, who was sitting in front of me. I decided to ask him later for a story from his remarkable career.
Asked the driver of a Tesla in the parking lot a question. He was so ready to talk. He bought his 2 weeks ago, and was all abuzz. He prefers it over his Porche which he’s going to sell.
