Christmas moments can be learning moments.
Once a year a friend has a pub night. I forgot to map out the location first, assuming I knew the exact location. Great that I had gps on my phone and it guided me perfectly. Also learned that now my ‘location’ starting point is automatic so it’s easier than earlier. The house was packed but I managed to have four or five interesting, quiet conversations there.
Looking for Christmas moments each day. Today’s was talking to Kelly-Ann who’s always loved her aunt but never got to spend much time with her. Not that her aunt is needing some care, Kelly-Ann is living with her, making her home spotless and feels she’s learning from her aunt each day. When her aunt was younger she was on the cover of Pinto Magazine.
Tonight she was going to ask Kelly-Ann to phone me, but I phoned her first. Divine synchronicity.
Wonderful stories shared at a funeral. I learned more about how others live their life, how much it means to children, even teens when grandparents are kind to them, are authentic and listen.

Practising for playing a few tunes for a Christmas party, Loni suggested I might play harmonica. I had the harmonica which I really haven’t played much in 20 years…and then we found the holder. It felt like I’d never stopped playing. It was a moving experience.

Saw a friend at City Hall, we shared what we are up to.. and we found a great space in the foyer to tell me of a bus trip in Vancouver that so captures to spirit of TravelerInYourOwnTown.
A desire to improve and progress in all aspects of life
Travelers find their own path, their own voice in their work. Treating work as an experiment rather than taking the easy and familiar routes or ‘tours.’ That sense of curiosity brings many rewards.
