About 9 am our son was walking with his partner to their gym’s door which is in an alley like this on Vancouver’s lower east-side. “One of the regulars in the alley asked if we had phoned our dads yet?” haha
He phoned me right after..
…. Listen..learn and act.
I heard that a local business was going through some tough times. I phoned up the manager who I know quite well , checking in how she is doing. She really appreciated the call and said, “I’d like some puppy cuddles some time.”
Later in the day, the pups and I dropped in and I left the pups with her for about 20 minutes while I did some shopping.
A number of times she remarked how much she appreciated the phone call, and the pup time.
As one counsellor said, ” Animals can often do what people can’t.”
A new friend of ours asked if there’s any way she could give us a hand. I asked if she could send us a Chinese dinner dish. She dropped off a DELICIOUS meal, that contributed to two evening’s dinners. It featured items we’d never had in any restaurant. Such generous, creative, delicious, loving support.
Here’s part of what she dropped off.
The flowers on our front porch are doing particularly well, because I can easily water them when I have excess water in the kitchen. Perhaps the best porch display we’ve had.
I’m taking on the cooking right now… and one dish that is popular with all ages of folks who eat here is pancakes. Interesting to learn more of the features of our inductive cooktop, and to get appreciative comments from our grandaughter. She then asked her mother to make her pancakes at her home as well.
So I got a call for my recipe..
I noticed that the plug in my MBP power adaptor wasn’t being dependable. The MBP’s Apple Care had expired a month earlier but I was still able to have Apple send me a replacement. Turns out they sent me a new adaptor without the plug. In talking to them again, the agent sent me two plugs so now both adaptors will be functional, if need be.
I was impressed by the agent’s spirit and focus and care for this matter.
