Friday afternoon, Loni taught me how to make icing and applesauce. We’re going to start off with soft butter, icing sugar, cocoa powder, and some almond milk. we put the ingredients in a bowl and used a whisk to combine them until smooth. Then I put it on the chocolate cake. That’s the perfect frosting chocolate cake.
Next we peeled apples first, removed the core, and chopped them. It was placed in a large pot with a lid and boiled for about 30 minutes. We put them into a food mill. This is actually the first time I used it. I cranked for a couple of minutes. we have gotten applesauce. It was amazing I can make frosting cake and applesauce. I’m really grateful for the joy and knowledge Loni brought me.
A few months ago I met a new Spiritual Care Provider who retired from being a high school counsellor. After a team meeting a few days ago, I asked him if he’d share a Classroom Moment he’d had as a counsellor. Here’s the magic he shared https://mobilizinghope.com/2023/10/05/magic/. Viewers have loved it.
A neighbour has two enormous apple trees. I knocked on the door and asked if we could take some groundfalls. ‘Take what you like, and what you can reach on the tree.’ Friendly and generous neighbours! Beautiful and delicious apples!
Just walking and chilling on campus… ended up getting to the Multifaith Centre and meditated with people/friends, supper, and making a friend for hanging out/cinema.
I said thank you to my feet for supporting me today.
How encouraging!
New home for a used mattress
A friend had a small mattress she didn’t need. Thrift stores wouldn’t take it. I advertised in FB Marketplace for free as suitable for dogs or young children, and a woman in Sooke ,who had a friend whose work had him driving in Saanich each day, had it picked up.
I couldn’t believe what I saw…
I was walking home with my shopping bag thinking about my next steps. I saw a poster in front of the church near my home
“The Oak Bay Community Green map”
…I went there to listen to the presentation…
I am going to collaborate with the team as a volunteer maybe soon.
