What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.

No I said No it can’t be Friday already! Uh oh OK… But I am complaining to the school district that the hours are too short for me and many other children in this school!
In these very short hours we did Characters. How can I make a difference to the world? My Character went to one of Japan’s orphanages and spent the next 3 weeks there with them and got very attached to one so I adopted her. Her name is Tatiana.
I don’t know how we managed to fit this in these very short school hours but we did manage to fit in sgraffito. Before you do sgraffito can practice with crayons! You just take some colours and put them on the paper then cover it heavily with a black crayon then take a pencil or toothpick and scratch in designs and you see the colour. When you do it for real you take a pencil and draw something simple and then take oil pastels and colour it all in differently. After that you paint it evenly with watered down acrylic paint and a tiny little bit of dish soap. When it dries you do the same as the crayon test.
Also I am still amazed that we could fit this in… Some of the girls in our class are in the song group we go in to the multipurpose room every other day at silent reading and work on a song for an assembly. We come back around 1:15 so we can finish working.
Also in these tiny hours we learned about time. We all know how to tell time on a digital clock but not very many of us can tell time on an analog clock I have gotten much better ike right now it is 11:12 am!
Thank you for reading this post and if you can help me manage any more things in very short school hours then let me know seeyah!!!! :p 🙂 🙂
Why does the week go by so fast? Our characters went to Africa helped some kids and played with them! They’re very poor which is really sad I just wish I can help them! Well… we can help them by donate some money, clothes, food, toys and hair. It’s not to much to send. Our teacher’s daughter is a nurse and she is in Cambodia right. Did you know in Cambodia they’re fifteen hours ahead of us!! Isn’t that amazing!? She is there because she is help kids with cleft palates. It means that your tooth is on top of your mouth which is really sad. We did smiles out of clay! We have not done it in a while. So that’s why we did it today!
We also did sgraffito! That is drawing an elephant and color it with oil pastels and paint black acrylic on it and then we get a toothpick make designs on it! It’s really fun so much fun you’ll be in love with it for your rest of your life!!
Oh my gosh! This week was busy! We learned about time but i’m still working on it. We learned about digital clocks and analog clocks. We learned about minutes before and minutes after. We did characters and the title was called how I can make a difference. I finished it yesterday. It was pretty fun. I didn’t have it for home work. We did sgraffido. We started out with a picture of an elephant then we put a acrylic paint on it and then we took a toothpick and made curvy lines and zig zag lines and it is so much fun! 😀 we made clay smiles and I really like mine. We made clay smiles because my teacher’s daughter Dana works at a company called operation smile and I suggested that we could write a poem for her and she said maybe and I just got that idea out of nowhere.
Wow! I had a spectacular week! We got to lots of art and lots of writing. In art, we did sgraffito again which was lots of fun! We also had lots of fun in our characters book. We wrote about “How I Can make A Difference”. Also my 10th birthday is coming up soon so I will be double digits!
I had lost of fun things that stood out to me this week. The first thing that really stood out to me was doing sgraffito. I liked it because when Ms. Newton said to stop and clean up I refused and said that I was in “The Magical Land Of Art”. Then she replied and said that is where I go every Wednesday in art class. Also I did characters, hockey, and basketball. I had fun with characters because we wrote about how I can make a difference. Ms. Newton chose to write about that because her daughter Dana is in Cambodia participating in a program called Operation Smile and they help kids born with a cleft pallet and cleft lips. I have done some research about the operation and I found out that there are about 1 in every 500 babies that are born with cleft lips. So the people who volunteer help out those kids with the cleft lips. I had fun in PE because I scored my first school goal in hockey.
Other things that stood out to me were doing math, playing guitar, and looking forward to my 10th birthday. I liked to do math because we did a review on how to tell time (Which Was fun) and we got to a times drill. For my birthday, I am going to go to the bowling alley with my friends.
I Had A Fantastic Week!
Is it Friday already? I can’t believe it is Friday, any way this week we got to do sgraffito & I went to cosom hockey at school and guess what my team won, also for sgraffito we put acrylic on top of our oil pastel drawing and let it dry. The next day we got to carve designs on top of it.
Also I missed one day of school so I missed alot, just because I missed one day of school I missed gym sgraffito and characters. For characters I missed how to make a difference and I know that because my friend named Leon told me. Oh I almost forgot, my teacher’s daughter named Dana is participating in a program called Operation Smile. Operation Smile is in Cambodia & it helps kids get their smile back.
I had an AWESOME week!! 🙂
I’m so tired! My hand feels like it is going to fall off because I wrote so much in characters. I got so involved in writing because I liked writing about making a difference. I like to help people so it was fun to write about it.
I scored seven goals in hockey. I feel bad for my team because I was a puck hog so next time I’m not going to be such a puck hog and try to pass to my team.
I loved this week!!!
