Hi Everyone,
I just had some great news to share. I have lived in Victoria for over 3 years and as almost everybody in 2020 I have been facing some serious challenges. In 2020 I moved to live at Christopher’s house and I connected with him during that time about variety of topics including this blog.
In 2020 I lost a really good job and being on my own here in Victoria was a really challenging time for a foreigner being unemployed and alone during pandemic lockdowns.
Fortunately I got hired part time when I moved in to Christopher’s house in September 2020 by my old boss. Even though it was not perfect it was keeping me alive and able to stay in Canada. This year in 2021 almost all good things started miraculously happening. I got my permanent residence processed right in the first week of January and even though after multiple rejections from other companies I just got hired by a Software company based in Montreal where I am going next week for onboarding. This job means a lot to me as I got even more than I have asked for and the company is highly rated by others. The job is fully remote so I will be able to continue to live in Victoria or wherever I decide to go.
The reason why it means so much to me is that I have gotten probably 50 interviews in 2020/2021 and been rejected in the last rounds of the process. This was very soul destroying as I did not know why! This job came and is better with much higher pay than all the previous ones so I am super grateful for this.
The big lesson here is that no matter how many times you get rejected there is always some other doors open for you where you are welcomed and wanted, making you feel like you belong.
Rejection is just re-direction and an opportunity to grow!

A month after the projected completion date there’s “concrete” signs we’re close to the end. Looking forward to a walk on The Greenway.
Using great questions to explore life and make better connections with others, starts with our responding to the questions first.
One of the questions on WhatsGoneWellToday.com is, “What is something you did that opened a door for you?”
One recent response from a new user, “Logging in to Whatsgonewelltoday.com website.”
“It is amazing! The questions make me happy and helps me recall the valuable experiences I’ve had!”
What’s gone well? We had been trying for a year to organize getting new linoleum for a couple of bathrooms. Because of this pandemic, it was really hard to book an installer and theyall had minimums. End of the Roll just never called us back, even when they had been ‘to measure up the rooms. They were just that busy. So, this week we took another try.
I took home some samples and we had the name of someone who might be interested in the job. It turned out that he only liked peel and stick jobs, not interlocking tiles. I
called Lumberworld where we got the samples to see if they had any non-interlocking flooring. They didn’t but he asked me if I had paid for the tiles yet, as they had just gone on sale for 75% off because they wanted all their flooring out to make room for Christmas trees. We needed 101 sq. ft., and the tiles came in boxes of 20 sq. ft. When we paid for five boxes, the salesman told us we could have the extra tile for no charge!!
We called our favourite contractor ever to see if he could recommend someone and it turned out he was looking for side jobs till his new project in December. It will be done in a couple of weeks.!!!
Best product, best installer!
