A mountain top experience… moments with our sons and their partners. Some great conversations that resulted in big insight.
My evening view
I love roses, this little sign was such a delight. Thank you to the gardener who reminded me that delight can be double!!
A fresh question really helped
Just received this note from a FB post of mine… in our UVic Caring Project..
Mr. Bowers…you tried to teach me grade 9 math and I was an absolutely horrific student…finished with a whopping 17 percent. Lol. Regardless, you were a wonderful teacher. When my mom discovered my final grade, she hired me a tutor. Between you helping me afterschool, and the other tutor, I went into my callback and absolutely aced it. I will always remember you taking the time to congratulate me, and feeling so proud that I had figured out these equations that seemed so very foreign. A valuable lesson. I have shared this story with my niece and nephew…the power of encouragement, hard work and a great teacher. (They thought the 17 percent was hilarious.) Lol. You had many great ideas and perspective. “Who said that blue is a boy colour and that pink is a girls?” Ahead of your time. Anyways, thank you for being a great teacher and a really cool soul. PS…I ended up becoming a Grade 9 math teacher. Just kidding…. but. I got the highest mark in the grade 9 callback. Lol
