I was born and grew up in Gimli Manitoba which is dear to my heart. My father was Mayor of Gimli for 14 years and during that time the town had a place in our family as though it was a sister. I feel very proud to say I come from Gimli and I wanted to visit Mount Gimli and take a bit of my home town with me. I contacted the now Mayor Lynn Greenberg and asked if he would send me a flag so I could fly it at the base of the mountain.
The hike up to the base is quite steep and took me almost 4 hours to get there with the help of a very competent, kind and wonderful guide Joel McBurney from Altus Mountain Guides – not sure I would have made it with out his amazing support and determination. I get to what he called MY MOUNTAIN.
At one point I stood and looked out over the vista of the landscape and it was a most magical moment of grace and appreciation for life and my country. This little journey I took gave me a great appreciation for stepping outside of my comfort zone to experience a connection to the world from above~ We are never be too old to push our perceived limits! What is on the other side changes how you view yourself and the world.
To the beautiful majestic Mount Gimli I stand honoured to have been so close to you!
A wonderful phone conversation with a woman I’ve talked to briefly years ago. Far ranging.. and as per usual will lead to a subsequent chat with someone I’ve long admired. I learned so much about the music business, and some benefits of this present societal shift in people’s lifestyles.
She asked for an example.
“Calmness”
She thought for a moment and said, “Focus” .
I had to agree. She looked carefully at my order and pointed out that in a collection of brackets there were two similar but different sizes. Helpful. Saved me a return trip.
Our garden has Loni’s favourite flower. I picked some for the kitchen. Every time Loni came into the room, she exclaimed how much she loved the fragrance.
We were invited to a surprise birthday tea, outside. Lovely conversations on a beautiful afternoon with important people related to a common project. It was a gracious event.
It was a lovely 😊 afternoon and so nice to visit with everyone…the surprise was so much fun ❤️
