A toast to the buoyant resilience of Victoria’s musical community, and the many front porch concerts that open up to passersby and friends. Our way of saying, we’re taking this on together and with love for one another. We can join together by distancing and wearing masks, and enjoy our shared music in open street spaces.
A powerful and rich experience.. talking on the phone… Today I did a google search and found contact info for friend I hadn’t seen in about 15 years.. It was a wonderful conversation. When we taught in the same school district we carpooled for a year or more. The drive was full of exploration and collaboration and often the best part of the teaching day. It had a profound impact on my teaching.
Today’s chat was so in line with that spirit.. turned on in a second by a cold call… We covered so many important ideas… didn’t skip a beat.
Signal Messenger on Loni’s iPad was acting up. We deleted it but as we were using it as a primary device reinstalling was not smooth. About 11 pm I contacted a friend who researched it and walked me through on a video call how to solve the problem. I would never have been able to solve this on my own . So grateful..
Back in about 1973 I took a Philosophy of Education course from Charles Ungerleider. We had some excellent conversations outside of class time then, and over the years. When I was a school computer consultant on the west side of Vancouver he referred me to an amazing collaborative project for students at my school. Perhaps one of the coolest initiatives I’ve seen in my 30+ years of teaching.
Had a great couple of chats this last month. Love the sense of continuity and richness of our conversations.
“Multitasking.”
I saw that she WAS very good at this. There was no dead air. While one person was waiting for m/c verification she took me through a transaction.
