My smaller wins are very first world but things definitely work out for me .. the car stereo installation I had in progress was nearly not ready in time for me to race out of the city two weeks ago, and then even picking the up was up in the air in the panic over contagion but the shop pulled it off and everyone was great to deal with and now this Jetta has front and back dash cams and phone integration and sounds fantastic
I took out my staple gun for a project, and found it wasn’t working. For a plan B I turned to my supply of twist-ties which did the job.
I couldn’t see what was wrong with the staple gun, but texted a very handy friend, who said he’d take a look. I dropped it off ( isolation) in his letter box and within an hour he texted to say he’d fixed it. Saved another item from landfill. He then told me how he did it for future reference.
So blessed to have him as an ace in the hole when I run into puzzles in my life.
I phoned a friend I hadn’t seen or talked to for a month or more. It was an amazing reflection on the opportunities this current crisis is presenting to society. I loved the call.. full of surprises and growth, and potential for thoughtful followup as she shares some of her recent writings.
A couple of weeks ago I was talking about excavation day for a major expansion of our home, when the mood changed from everyone being glad they could still work while maintaining 2m distance from each other to everyone getting the fear and saying they were shutting down for two weeks .. two days later they had a rethink and one fellow worked by himself with direction from the head fellow .. now we’ve got two people back on site this week for the framing job which is the most close-quarters anyone needs to work and then we can easily go back to distancing if needed and the project can keep on schedule
This evening I phoned a friend who lives in seniors’ residence that she likes alot. We talked for about 15 minutes. It made both of our days. It was just like being in the same room.
One bit of wisdom:
Right now, we’re in the kingdom
Be still and know, that I am God.
It’s good for you.
We both agreed that our time together tonight made our day.
Beautiful walks at UVic today. Took a route that Loni had never walked before. At one point we heard a constant ‘buzz’. The tree was in full bloom, packed with honey bees.
