Saturday’s riches include discovering Corey Burger’s blog and his giving me access to his wonderful Flickr site of local photos.
I’ve been thinking about packaging the WGWT card deck after Jordan Fisher suggested it. This morning it came to me to talk to Jane, the owner of Petals, a local flower show that I’ve been referred to by a friend. They spend their days wrapping. In conversation with one of the employees I came up with this description of the deck, ” A gift of a positive shift”… such a cool descriptor.
Another WGWT participant is eager to try some ideas we’ve talked about. That too is a gift to her community.
He really really appreciated it.
Also – animals never cease to amaze me. Went to feed, clean and let my horse and his two older companions in for the evening. I was cleaning a stall when I heard them making some noise and looked out to see all three of them, full out galloping around their field, jumping, kicking, snorting and generally having a blast! What wonderful energy, I was totally laughing and enjoying their antics, yay!
This morning my husband and I went out on a date. It included a tasty breakfast in Estevan Village; a walk in the rain along the waterfront, and in front of interesting stucco homes with lovely gardens; and a shopping spree in a wonderful toy store. In the restaurant, the owner enthusiastically talked to us about teas from various places. We were intriqued by the different feeling in Oak Bay (no graffitti on telephone posts) and by the gardens – especially one on Beach Drive that is lit up by beds and baskets of pink, red, and purple Impatience flowers. In the toy store, my husband was like a child – unable to resist a “Find the Frog” cloth book for our newest grandchild. I believe frogs are also very pleasing to our son-in-law — or is it monkeys?
Hooray – today we chatted and chatted and enjoyed each other and our surroundings. It felt good. Other dates are planned.
I found out today that I have the best prices in Victoria for trade show displays, table cloths and business cards; good to know! And it’s still morning!
It was a pleasure speaking with you Christopher and I thank you again for the kind words and great conversation!
