A neighbour told me about his daughter, newly divorced with a teen son. She asked her father for suggestions for a career. While they looked at a number of options, he suggested the local transit company. Six weeks after applying she got a call for an interview, and began driver training immediately after.
I’ve been shopping for several weeks for a photo album to continue my set in this small size for family shots. A stationary clerk steered me to a large craft supplies store, and there the sign by the door said “40% off”. I hoped this meant off everything. A shelf-stocker told me just where to find them, and there was just what I wanted, and with a very nice cover … but it was $25! I asked the beautiful check-out woman if this was 40% off, and she smilingly said “only with a coupon.” I also smiled and resisted the temptation to ask about a senior’s discount, or one for war-widows. However she volunteered to “use this old coupon” – swiped it in her machine, and I got 50% off!
This was all very fast and pleasant and another example of something going well.
invited another couple and they brought two people who were staying with them, to go bowling. What a different Friday night.. cosmic bowling!
The morning after a wonderful wedding in a very remote, beautiful location, which she describes as “a new dance” . Love the clear reflections she shares so blissfully.
Love the wisdom that comes from conversations with strangers. This woman does garden maintenance and evokes a warm, joyous spirit. She is mastering the art of life….
I listed our student rental rooms for university students on Thursday morning.
Turns out this was a weekend of parents coming to town to find a place for their children for university.
We had some wonderful conversations on Friday and Saturday. I fine-tuned the ad and it paid off. Today a family contacted me who truly appreciated what we had to offer and by the end of the day we had rented both rooms.
