A colleague was applying for a contract which included having to submit a 3 minute video about herself. We drafted some ideas on the spot and shot it a few minutes later. I loved the creative process, the opportunity to shape the content before, during and after the interview.
For the last few years I have been looking for 4 sisters who were my childhood friends and close friends of my family. I had tried so many things and couldn’t come up with anything. I couldn’t believe that 4 of them were so hard to find – but they all have different last names now. A few days ago I found an obituary for their dad, which listed all their husbands. I started calling numbers and after only 4 calls I found the sister who was closest in age to me. We have exchanged at least 30 emails so far, and lots of pictures. This has been a challenge for years and I am so excited to finally conclude it.
We really wanted a spiral vegetable slicer after borrowing one from our daughter for a couple of weeks. Our favourite store kept being out of stock, and we wanted to shop locally. I found out another outlet that carried it from the company website. They had 6 in, and the price was reduced by $20. I had a beautiful bike there to pick it up. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
An interview I did almost two years ago with Chief Frank Nelson, an artist as well as a leader, attracted 200 views this month. Here Frank tells the responsibilities he carries to preserve the culture of his people.
A new experience… walking in some of the 36 acres of Government House in Victoria, BC. All that beauty right at our door step. Inspiring.
We invited about 10 people from our church over for lunch. It was a rare opportunity for sharing stories, and some scrumptious food. Always love to be surprised by what comes up. There was such a gracious spirit around the table.
Here’s what some of the guests wrote later, ” Your lunch last Thursday was a gastronomic Zucchini delight, & u sparked character- full sharing.”
“Thanks so much for including me in your luncheon plans yesterday. It was a delight – and the food was delicious. Cheers for zucchini as well.”
