On two occasions this weekend, I decided that I didn’t need to focus on a problem, that Principle would be in effect without my further involvement. In one a bank glitch appeared after my online deposit didn’t show up. By the end of the day, the glitch was cleared , and my e-transfer was deposited. in the other a house cleaner’s schedule fit in perfectly with an afternoon matinee we could attend, when just a few hours previously there was much uncertainty.
My early morning moments on a Ring Road walk.

By UVic’s SUB I turned around and a new Chinese friend I had met a few weeks ago was 20 metres behind me. I waited till he caught up. We had a great chat about Community School Interviews, authentic conversation, people not acting because they are too busy or fearful ( and the role that the sender and the recipient can play in that obstacle) behaviour change.. on a domestic, local or international level, the US’ fall in international esteem from its history of bullying and aggression, his church’s generosity to the campus students ( right beside the university)
It was a stunningly thoughtful, warm exchange.
An early morning blessing and reminder

On an early morning walk, a girl across the road smiled at me, and I asked her what she was up to. What was she studying? Looked like she was carrying a sleeping bag. She was on her way to an art class where she was a model, but had been enjoying the early morning beauty on campus. She then said, ” We are perfect already, but don’t always live in harmony. I’m always learning from everything around me”
I love the gifts that strangers share.
I enjoyed her good news about selling a large litter of puppies, and about improving her garden. Then I remembered some of my good things, such as having an income so being able to help here and there, and having had a long spell of good health.
So I’m giving thanks, this Thanksgiving week.
Lessons learned — knowing we have all we need is a key to moving forward
A friend gave me a 20 yr old Speedibin composter. I downloaded the directions but realized the design has changed. I contacted the manufacturer and they offered to come over and set it up if I still had difficulties. I looked at the components one more time and saw how it all works. Success
When I was thinking that I was lacking a couple of parts: two structural supports, and there were no screws to hold it together, I felt stymied, like giving up. It felt hopeless. Had the previous owner forgotten to pass them along? I talked to the creator of it and she explained that no parts were missing. That’s all she said, besides her offer of helping me assemble it the next time she’s in town. Once I knew ‘no screws’ missing or needed I looked at the project in a new way … Assembly came quickly.
Love it when you change your approach and the problem solves itself!
Knowing there is a backup, that help at some point is available, provides some comfort.
