Problem solved…
The cupboard in the kitchen that holds the cleaners was overflowing. I took everything out, moved things that don’t need to be in the kitchen at all downstairs, threw out some very old product and donated some never-opened stuff, making just enough room for what remained..
Problem solved
A toilet in the house would spontaneously top-up its water tank. This would happen irregularly and was first noticed at night as it would wake me up. I took the lid off and flushed it watching what happened. I repeated this operation several times and it always behaved properly until suddenly I saw it begin to leak at the flapper valve. I noticed that one edge was not sealing and when I examined the bottom I noticed some fine grit. I cleaned the bottom of the tank to remove some fine sand like particles. The problem seems to be gone so I assume the source has been found. I looked carefully, thought about what I was seeing and lucked out

My work lately has taken me all the way out to Port Renfrew, and day-after-day I have this long drive surrounded by mountains and forest and ocean. I often listen to the radio and when I hear the goings-on in other parts of the world it has made me aware of the amazing gift I/we have, just to wake up in a place such as this
