Rewarding!
I took a dance workshop that I knew would be very challenging – it was outside if my comfort zone for sure! The reward was that I completed the whole workshop, and I learned a lot, even though it was uncomfortable and difficult.
I had recorded about 30 stories at a wedding back near Boston in 2009. My copy has been deleted from an online service. I couldn’t find it anywhere and no one had a copy of the DVD. Last night in tidying and organizing our large collection of VHS and DVD’s Loni found two copies of the DVD! Priceless!
Rewarding moments from my day
I got to start editing a new book today, and caught up with a friend’s daughter –a spur of the moment decision after a meeting with someone else in her building. I’m glad I stopped by, she’s delightful. Made some interesting inroads with a client, and had a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. The baked beans I made for dinner were perfect…
… all in all, a fairly normally-rewarding day
After many years living their lives quite independently my two sons and I were spending an early evening together; One son had recently decided to brush up on playing his guitar and was quietly playing an old piece popular in the 70s and the other son who also has a beautiful natural voice began to sing along softly: I quietly listened but my heart was also singing. it was a very special moment for all of us.
Had a wonderful experience today on Granville Island at the Art Therapy Institute. I was invited to participate in an information session and it was an opportunity to learn what an Art Therapist does. By playing with clay and sharing our feelings with the rest of the group, we all recognized the value of allowing ourselves to acknowledge our challenges and to let in the good. Always positive to learn something new!
Took a challenge with adding an image to a video, to the Red Hats of UVic. I treat each of these puzzles as rich learning opportunities.
There I was also drawn to talk to Daniel, an artist taking his masters at UVic. He’s interested in a project about dying. We talked about sparking people to celebrate the moments they discover in their present days and recording it somehow.
Found my leather gloves in my bike bag, even though I’d checked it twice before.
