Being bold has helped me when I have needed to ask a stranger for help. For example, when my battery died at Elk Lake from leaving my lights on. I had to ask a stranger if they had jumper cables. And a young woman and her friend happened to have a new set in their car and they kindly helped me to charge my battery.
We shaped an idea for a Focus Prayer group that would make it a safe, inspired, thoughtful and workable process. I loved how well received it was. Participants appreciated the structure and the opportunity to explore important ideas. It helped them be more efficient communicators. Those who didn’t make get to the first event are already talking about the next one.
A plea for help was sent on on Jan 3rd:
My guitar and amplifier were stolen from my vehicle ,a brown 1986 VW Westfalia , last night Thursday ,January 2 ,2014 between 6:15 and 6:40 at Uptown parking outside Sizzling Tandoori restaurant .
It is in a black carrying bag with a strap (the bag says Roland somewhere on it ) , it has one side pocket with a Shure sm58 microphone and cord and the other side pocket has a black folding foot stand
The guitar which has great sentimental value since I have had it 42 years and play it everyday .
In response to his plea, I sent him this:
Let’s also know that you can’t have what’s yours, taken from you.
Music is your gift… and that can’t be stolen.
Despite the evidence, lets see a complete, not fragmented story for you.
Yesterday John received a hot tip, and was able to retrieve his equipment.
