One of the things I love to do is combine bike riding and busing. A couple of days ago in the rain I got on the bus and hand to find my bus ticket.. put my gloves near the front of the bus… gave my ticket in .. and then went to the back of the bus.. and had a great conversation… Later that day I realized where I left my gloves, phoned lost and found.. and the next day the bus lost and found dept phoned me , saying they had my gloves! An added bonus was how pleasant and good humoured the transit staff person was.
Had a wonderful meeting with the manager of a private club to see how their ambassadors can help promote the club in their community.
Met a new neighbour, who bought a cottage and is planning on keeping it.
An evening of playing card games and listening to Anne of Green Gables being read. Having travelled to PEI a few years ago, LM Montgomery’s descriptions took on an extra life.
I am involved with the Merville Grand Mothers with fund raising for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. What an eclectic and brilliant group of women! They feed me. Also, I just joined the Letzsing group. It’s a choir composed of anyone who wants to sing. This is quite a leap for me as I have always been a self conscious singer. Somehow having all the other surrounding singers melts the anxiety.
I phoned up an elder friend who lives on a ranch in Oregon. We have a few minutes on the phone most days. Tonight she said , “I’m feeling a bit quiet tonight. Actually I’m full of vim, vigour and vitality.’ I said the quietness will help her be receptive to the good ideas she can hear from God.
When we moved to the country back in the late ’80’s we moved onto a road with some very helpful people. The day we arrived, Joan arrived on her bike and delivered some food to us.
Now we live in Victoria. Yesterday my coat’s zipper broke. In my FB status I asked for people’s suggestions for a seamstress. Great response with a clear recommendation for a ‘legend’ in our town. The latter was a first for me on FB – great practical support.
Found the DV cassette that held interviews we did at our re dedication about 6 years ago. Took it to UVic where we were able to find a camera to load it. This is older technology, so they were grateful to receive a box of new DV Cassettes that they can let the students use. My new camera doesn’t use them.
