What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.

I Can’t Believe It! This week has gone by so fast! We did so much fun activities like characters, hockey, and especially kick the can! Kick the can is the absolute best game ever!
I had so much fun this week with everything. I had fun in characters because we got to learn alot of history about Vancouver because it turned 125 on April 6th 2011. I found out that George Vancouver came to this land in 1792 looking for the northwest passage so he could get back to his home town in England. Sixteen years later, Simon Fraser came to where Marpole is now located searching for the Columbia River. he was confronted by indians and returned back sadly the same day. But, moving on I had a BLAST in hockey! I was doing really well and then my teacher Ms. Newton called me Leongo kind of like the goaltender of the Vancouver Canucks Reberto Luongo. I liked the name alot but to the end my saving goals skill went down, alot. Finally Kick The Can! I always have such a fun time. When you are really angry you can just let out steam by kicking the can to let it all out.
I Had A Fantastic Week!
These two weeks have been fantastic. I went bowling with my family. I beat my dad and cousin. It was hard, well kind of. I also went swimming my dad and brother. I had a race with my brother down the water slide and I won. My mom took our family to watch two movies. We saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 and Hop.We went to our cousins house for a sleepover. We went to Chucky Cheese to have dinner and play games.
The sad thing is that the whole class is going to study about chocolate while I am gone to Disneyland! Maybe I won’t tell my Mom and Dad and I’ll sneak into the classroom and they’ll think I had to go to the bathroom for a week! Ha ha! Na maybe I shouldn’t do that.
Well I do have some information on Chocolate! Did you know………. An important ingredient used to make chocolate does grow on trees, the cacao bean. These valuable beans grow inside of large pods that sprout from the trunk of a large tree. There are three main kinds of chocolate: white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. Chocolate is safe to eat unless it is eaten in large amounts. Some people eat it every day. There are a number of active ingredients in chocolate. The most notable of these are caffeine and theobromine. These two chemicals are closely related and are found in all cocoa beans. In any bean, the amount of each chemical varies depending on the genetics of the tree and the stresses placed on the tree during the growing season. From the 19th century until the First World War and throughout the second world war the Swiss chocolate industry was very export oriented. After the Second World War Switzerland began to outsource production due to commercial restrictions. In 1901 Swiss chocolate producers created the Union libre des fabricants suisses de chocolate. Hmmmmm… I wonder how Chocolate Sushi would taste! We have to try it out some day Ms.Newton 🙂 I had an Awesome day today !
Two weeks of spring break? Whoever heard of that? My spring break was that long. In spring break I danced for two hours straight. It was tiring. Another thing I did was watch lots of movies. Today it was great we went to my mums friends house! I got to play the kids there! I love it there! We had lasagna for lunch and it was tasty. After I got hungry so I ate peas and carrots with rice and some spicy sauce!!!
Guess what! I had CHOCOLATE today!! My mum was about to throw them out until my little sister caught her! Mother you get the kid look never ever ever.. Did I say ever? Throw out CHOCOLATE! It’s good for you! Hehe! It’s with cacao beans! I got information about cacao beans! Did you know that you can also say ” Cacao”? A Spanish soldier who was part of the conquest of Mexico by Hernán Cortés tells that when Moctezuma II, emperor of the Aztecs, dined, he took no other beverage than chocolate, served in a golden goblet. Flavored with vanilla or other spices, his chocolate was whipped into a froth that dissolved in the mouth. It is reported that no fewer than 50 portions each day may have been consumed by Montezuma II, and 2000 more by the nobles of his court.[8]
Chocolate was introduced to Europe by the Spaniards, and became a popular beverage by the mid 17th century.[9] They also introduced the cacao tree into the West Indies and the Philippines. I got lots of information about cacao beans. About 3,000,000 tonnes (3,000,000 LT; 3,300,000 ST) of cocoa is produced each year. ( I didn’t write that I coped and pasted)
