What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.
This week was an amazing week! In school we thought about what our characters intention should be for 2016.
Our teacher, Ms. Newton read a story called “S Is For Spirit Bear( A British Columbian Alphabet) After we read the story we started a our own S Is For Spirit Bear! Our teacher gave us these pieces of paper with the same words from the story that we had to glue in our mini book. We glued it in and then we drew pictures to match the story and coloured it in. We also started an iPad unit with a man called Mr. Loat. On the iPad we used an app called “Book Creator” Mr. Loat taught us how to use Book Creator and how to make a book. WE HAD AN AMAZING WEEK!!!!!!
This week we finished the book Shiloh, it was a happy ending. Marty finished working for Judd and paid for Shiloh. Judd gave Marty a new collar for Shiloh and he got to keep him. We are drawing a picture of Shiloh. We also made paper rainbows it was so fun and in the bible it says as long as you see a rainbow he kept his promise to never flood the earth again. This week we went to library and there was a green screen and we get to do plays and Jason and I are both doing a First Nations book. We are also making a little booklet called S Is For Spirit Bear. We learned about Book Creator and Mr.Loat taught us it was fun making a book but we haven’t finished mine had Five Nights At Freddies pictures on it.
This week we did a lot. We did characters, math, spelling test, library and a bunch of other stuff. Today Anthony was being very nice so I invited him to play with us and we were playing man hunt. Kyle, Kevin, Anthony, Roy, and Teoni were playing it was so fun! I had a great week!
We had a GREAT first term!!!
This term was great. We did characters and we made a letter to santa. then once we were finished we did art and made santa. After characters we were watching a movie called Rudolph. Today is Friday and it is the last day at school before we have Winter break. So today our school had pancake breakfast and also pyjama day. In October we had Halloween and we dressed up in costumes. When we were having lunch it was pizza day. For the Christmas assembly we were playing some songs on the guitar and they were Jingle Bells, Christmas times A Coming and Old Toy Trains. In total for this term we switched desks 2 times and we went for 2 field trips.1 was the Art gallery and the other one was to the Burnaby Village Museum. On December 11 we got our report cards home and we got to see how good we were doing at school. One day at school in the morning we were setting up an old toy train which was an electric train. Once we powered it, it began to go around the track!!!!
We had a great week. On Monday we had a field trip and we went to Burnaby Village Museum. Our class was divided in half so some people went somewhere and some other people went somewhere else. Our group’s first ride was the carousel it was so fun. We also got to meet a blacksmith. We had a fun day at Burnaby Village Museum. On Tuesday for art we got to make reindeer it was so much fun. On Thursday our class got to sing Jingle Bells, Christmas Times A Comin’ and Old Toy Trains. On Wednesday when we were going to put our guitars in the girls’ change room, we saw a huge blob of water in the ceiling. Yikes! Today some people from our class will be going to a Giants Game and I will be going I am so excited for the hockey game yay!!!!!!!! Today it is also pizza day.
