What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.

Since then, I have looked forward to my students being regular contributors to What’s Gone Well Today. However, in an effort to ensure their postings are meaningful and meet criteria for publishing, I’ve endeavoured to come up with a system that incorporates postings into our weekly schedule – not an easy task in middle school!
Unbelievably, I’ve put it off for over a year. Not that my students haven’t been writing, and meaningfully, but we haven’t incorporated it into What’s Gone Well Today. Which is a shame, because SO MUCH has gone well! There have been some amazing events and stories, and I may have to re-visit some of them.
As I write this, nothing has really changed. Or actually, maybe it has – last year I worked really hard with my students “preparing” them to write and publish in this forum, and I think I over thought it. Nothing got posted. Anyway, I’ve been telling my students that sometimes, “you just have to start” – I have said this in many contexts, not just with writing. Today I’ve decided to take my own advice – the next post will be from a student of mine who wrote a journal entry that spoke to me. We recently planted a native species garden in our school field (now THERE was a WGWT story!) and her journal entry particularly touched me.
Wish us luck as we endeavour to be regular contributors.
We wish you ‘good fortune’ in entering this new potentially life-changing practice. Thanks for opening the door once again.

This week in characters our title was My Achievement. For My Achievement we made a trophy.(My characters trophy was solid gold with an oak stand) In our writing we did 5 paragraphs. Our first paragraph was the Intro, our second was about what our trophy
looks like, our third paragraph was about how we got our trophy, our fourth paragraph was about how our characters felt and our fifth paragraph was the conclusion.
This week in spelling we had a hard bonus word. Our bonus word was hysterical. It was fun learning to spell hysterical.
This week in computers we went on the Kingswood website. On the Kingswood website we went to world book and searched beavers. Did you know beavers waddle clumsily on land? I learned a lot about beavers on world book.
Yesterday we had centres. Usually we would have centres on Fridays but this week we did it on Thursday.
This week in gym we did yoga with Ms.Newton and soccer with Mr. Naso. It was fun.
This week we did art. In art we used chalk pastels to colour in a picture of a beaver we drew. It was cool.
On February second we have a field trip to the Museum of Anthropology and we have another field trip on February fourteenth to the Richmond Cultral Centre. The two field trips are in February. 🙂
That’s great, have fun at your field trip to the Museum of Anthropology .
Great week 🙂 Dasha`s dad
This week in Computers we went on our school website and went to world book for kids and we looked up beavers. While I was looking up beavers I found and watched a video of a cute little baby beaver trying to climb up on a bunch of sticks and it kept on falling down it was so cute.
This week spelling was pretty easy. I got 9 on my pre-test score and 9+ on my real test. Spelling is always fun for me.
This week in art we drew beavers! Once we finished our beavers we coloured them in with chalk pastels. It was very very very fun (Did I say very).
This week in characters we did my achievement. My characters achievement was to win a trophy for helping kids any age with any kind of disabilities. We also got to draw our trophy.
This week in gym we played soccer with Mr.Naso. And with Ms.Newton we did yoga. It was so A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
This week in math we had group 1 and group 2 again. Group 2 did algebra. And I have no idea what group one did.
I had a wonderful week 🙂
Yes. Today is a half a day. We have 1 more hour before we get out of school. I’m so excited today. 🙂
