We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.

Every class at our school does an assembly presentation once a year and ours is at the end of January…..Thinking we may share with the audience (students and parents) that we have been invited to participate in a website created for students to share what’s gone well at school…maybe get a few kids to share their posts?
I’d love the community to know/participate?
Can anyone ‘reply’ to a comment?

It’s a work in progress at this point but definitely worthy of sharing at our assembly, the kids truly love it.

This week was awesome! On Wednesday we went to Burnaby Village Museum! Lots of the food in our days in the museum were only 1 cent to 30 cents. One donut cost 3 cents! We went to the carousel! Jeremiah Leon and I were sitting right beside each other. Some of the wooden horses were over 100 years old!
We went to a big house. It was the love family’s house. When I entered to door I learn something new! A horse shoe facing up means good luck. A horse shoe facing down means bad luck. There was a room inside the house that the children could not go in unless there was company or Christmas day.
On Thursday we wrote in our characters book. It was about our character’s pet and My character’s pet is a cat. In one paragraph I wrote about the tricks he can do. My cat can play dead, that is very unusual for a cat!
It was a fantastic week!

Wow! I had a magnificent week! We got to go to the Burnaby Village Museum. We got to o on the carousel that went 7.5 mph. We also got to go to the post. We got to see how they made the newspapers and all the other things that could be printed. We also got bookmarks from the girl who was there. We also got to go to the blacksmith shop where they make things out of steel. As well we got to look at the old fashioned tram car. It was really interesting. There was also a movie theater playing Charlie Chaplin. It was different compared to todays 3D movie theaters. There was also a drug store, bakery, candy shop, and a log cabin. The drug store was different because you could not just go up and get it, you had to tell the person what you wanted and then they would get it. The candy shop was kind of weird because all the candy was old and has been treated with bugs. At school we got to look at the school’s kiln. We got to also create clay Christmas trees with lights and a texture. We also got to write in our characters books. We got to write about our pets. We got to make a pop-out mouth on our construction paper pets. Then I wrote 1.5 pages about my pet Edwardo. We also got to go to P.E. with our new gym and computer teacher Mr. McKay. We played tail tag, and dodgeball. In dodgeball I went crazy! It was so much fun playing the game. In tail tag you have to have these pinnies. there are two teams. Each team has to get the other teams tails. It is a very fun game. Also in art we made wreaths out of construction paper, tracers, and a pie plate. We made the holly with light and dark green paper. then we cut around he pie plates to make it a circle, then we glued the holly on the pie plate. Then we traced a ribbon out of red paper and then we glued it on the holly and then we finished the wreath.

This was an awesome week! On Wednesday we went to the museum it was a replica of the year 1892.We reenacted an old time school. The teacher gave us a hand inspection . In the olden days they gave hand inspections so that nobody got sick. We also made clay trees and we will glaze them after they are fired in the kiln.
