Took the car in for servicing and found it needed brake pads. I remembered I’d had new pads a few years ago, so the front pads were free ( labour is not).And I had time to get it done today.
Talked to someone who maybe just right for look after booking performance space in our building. His office is close to our building…. the conversation begins.
A neighbour on our strata road offered to cut the hedges I was going to do, and he and I will trade off on cutting the blvd lawn..
Talked to the front desk folks at the brake shop about wgwt. When we started they had nothing good to say. After a few moments , they started to see good things. They thought there was worth in using it with their staff.. to review how they are doing.. what ARE the things that have gone well in their day.
And when I got my invoice , they had comped the original lube and tire rotation because I had waiting so long while they did the brakes.
I made pancakes with my Dad at 7:30 before he had to go to work!
Enjoyed the performances at the Festival of Performing Arts and the courage of one primary school student who shared her own poem.
Met the good folks at Mary Manning Centre when I picked up what we won at the V-Monologues silent auction. They may benefit from getting their successes out there.
Watching part of the hockey game at a friend’s place was fun.
A very thoughtful grace at dinner capped off a year of boarding at our home.
Why I love my work in adventure sailing
8 things went well today – new bread machine worked well, cookies turned out well, one student got a part-time job at Tim Hortons – , revived old summer shoes, another student graduated from her short course, left-overs heated up good as fresh, got well started on a new book, grocery had everything on my list.
Woke up this morning at anchor at Princess Cove, Wallace Island. The sign was shining, the birds singing, and the hearty smell of coffee wafted out the galley. It felt so warm it might as well be summer!
