Construction on a garden suite finally begins
When I returned home yesterday morning, here is what was going on in the back yard. After waiting for over a year for building permits for my garden house, there is finally some action.
This morning the excavator arrived and started digging. One of the first things was to rescue a few plants from the site. The small cherry tree, the dogwood tree and several rhododendrons. They will find new places in the yard, and some will come back to my area once the house is built. There were also several hostas and a lilac . Lise has offered the lilac free to anyone willing to come and haul it away. It was too big to keep.
There are now new lines painted on the lawn outlining where the house will be. It is all very exciting to see some actual work being done.
By mid afternoon the piles of sod were rising as waterlines were being dug.
Several robins and a crow were taking advantage of the upturned side to peck for worms. They didn’t seem bothered by the noise of the machine.
Yeah Joyce, what good news! As it says in today’s lesson “Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.”
Great service on a number of fronts
Gus is a bus driver for Island Connector. He works with such grace, patience and humour while dealing with impatient, confused and demanding customers. I asked if his manner was a result of training or was he born that way. He said, “It grew with me.”
Wanting to get to the cruise ship terminal he gave us a choice of getting dropped off at the Hotel Vancouver for $15, or to the Cruise Ship terminal for $25 each. It was a walk of 12 minutes through downtown Vancouver that we haven’t walked in in years.Freedom and peace. A lovely , beautiful, experience.
It was moments like this that made our cruising vacation meaningful, beautiful and memorable.
Finding her calling
I started off by asking how her employer shows they value and appreciate her efforts. Turns out they don’t, but working with the flowers and vegetation is her reward. Here’s how she found ‘her life calling’ on her professor’s yacht.
Not giving up on quality
Christopher, in reply to your hose solution, it reminded me of my parents and a fan that quit working, my solution was to replace it because it probably had seen better days but they keep cleaning it and it keeps on going so I guess you should never give up and be more thoughtful of adding to the garbage pile!
Loved this message I got this morning
When we hold on to rigid notions of how things should or shouldn’t be, we limit our growth in a multitude of ways. On the other hand, when we move with trust, we’re able to allow Spirit to come through and orchestrate miracles on our behalf. The latter is what is required of you, Aquarius. So, dissolve the barriers between you and the world. Pay attention to what the signs have to say. There is magic all around you, beautiful, and it is unfolding in this very moment.
