A grateful eye
Never had I seen so many people, on the streets, looking lost and needy.
We had an appointment, and I’m a little lame, so I had to focus on where I was going.
We passed a man with his baseball cap out, looking like he was about to collapse. He was standing near a public bench.
We kept our appointment, and were on the street returning to the car.
The man was still there, begging for some help.
I said to my son, “would it be okay if I gave him this”?
It was a tightly rolled twenty dollar bill, which I had in my purse for emergencies.
My son looked at me with the kindest eyes, and said “sure Mom”.
So I slowed down, and dropped it in his cap. And we walked on. Yet, It seemed important that I turn and see how he was.
I am forever grateful that I looked back. For he was gathering up his things, and looking my way. He had the most caring look on his face and gave me a thank you, and a thumbs up.
I felt so blessed.

A gift for the taking
Finding local support
My tenant and I picked up the ladder and leaned it against the vine. He left. I climbed up and created some space for the light. An hour later we returned the ladder. Without that helping hand and supportive spirit I would have been hooped.
I was ready to pay $2000 for my front tooth crown🦷
My dentist just polished the tooth and said, “You don’t need that crown.”
