Father’s Day insight
I was walking in the late afternoon and saw this little child with her mother. I quickly took the picture as I was walking by as it was of interest to me. I didn’t realize it until I viewed the photo later on that sometimes mothers are fathers too.
My mother had to be my father at many points during my lifetime, because my real father wasn’t there.
I appreciate her strength and I am grateful for her loving kindness and compassion.
So on Father’s Day the significance of mother’s can also be important. I am very grateful for this revelation.
Lots of good things went well lately.
2 great things was my high school reunion after 10 years with my friends and my upcoming trip to raft some of the coolest rivers in Europe for 10 days! I am leaving on Tuesday to Austria, Italy, and Slovenia to raft and hike in the Alps with a cool group of people.
MyChosen Cafe
On Friday, we took my parents out for a Father’s Day lunch along with my brother, due to the covid restrictions, my parents haven’t been to a restaurant for a year! They live in an independent living home and have all their meals supplied so they were so looking forward to getting out for a meal of their choice! We drove them out to Metchosin from Langford, they loved the drive and couldn’t believe all the changes since they were last out that way, which was quite a few years ago! It was a lovely day for all and so appreciated, they were so happy to get out! I was so grateful all went well!
A fresh beginning
I joined about 30 other swimmers at Thetis Lake early Friday morning. Beautifully calm and quiet…we swam down to the end of the lake, through the channel and down Upper Thetis and back, stopping a few times to catch our breath and enjoy the scenery. It would have been so easy to have slept in but it was a great way to start the day and meet some new people, all connected by water.
My salad tonight was so good. I am a good cook but i usually cooked for others, not myself.
We have beautiful hanging baskets so beautiful that a little bird thought it would be the perfect place to build her nest! We didn’t notice her in the basket at first but she did make her presence known by staying close by and making clicking noises at us. Once we figured it out and saw that there was a nest we were very careful when we watered the plant even though she lets us know she isn’t very happy with us! There are two cute little babies in the nest!
