Talking to one clerk at the library checkout… She looked up on my account to find I had two more books available to checkout. Without even mentioning my name, another clerk who was 5 metres away got the book from the Interlibrary loan section. She hadn’t been talking to him… he just was in sync. She looked on my account and saw there was one book on the reserved section and he went and got it… again without being asked. I’ve never seem THAT level of service, that periheral hearing and immediate follow through.
When I awarded him a You Made My Day card several days later, the other clerks were smiling too.
My car needed a new switch for the defogger on the hatchback window. One garage said they would take the whole dashboard out and fix it, the other garage found, with the use of a tiny screw driver, it was just the switch on the dashboard. 20 mins and $200 + tax. I bought them a large box of Rogers Chocolates. Honesty pays.
Living north of the Malahat can be challenging when you have planned events to go to in Victoria because you never know when there may be road closures due to weather or accidents. Several months ago I received tickets to the play “Beautiful” for Saturday’s afternoon show. After Friday’s heavy rain and wind that caused flooded roads, trees falling and power outages, it was such a relief to see the sun on Saturday! On the drive down the roads were all good, there were no delays although there was mention there could be at Goldstream park, we drove right through. The play was wonderful, the music and performers were excellent. I was very grateful for the good day!
Cleared the decks for future connections.
Discovered the new location for entertainment apps in our Tesla (thanks to community members’ tips). After dinner out, we sat, listened to good music and played Backgammon with the heat on in Teddy. Great fun.
It was not easy to find a happy time today, except that I survived it, and didn’t get into any serious trouble. But yes, I am having a happy time right now.
