Our church is now a recognized quality performance venue in Victoria. Last night my wife and I were part of the front of house team. Ashley MacIsaac and Quinn Bachand were playing. I do the parking lot and elevator. A fellow hung around for quite a while chatting and smoking before the show, and then came back at the break. I realized it was Ashley. Interesting times… balancing the limelight and a light rain. Just chilling and sharing.
There are only about 6 celtic guitarists in Canada good enough to accompany him. Interesting to talk with him how he determines who he’d consider.
The Bay added a couple of chairs by one of their service desks. It added comfort and opportunity for customers to talk with others.
Loni was busy so I wondered what was the best use of my time on a Saturday night. I ended up phoning a friend and seeing if he was open to a visit.
He had lost his wife about 5 months ago. We had a great, in-depth visit and the next day he wrote ,”Thank you, Christopher. I think my motto yesterday was ‘what’s gone bad?’, until you came over. Now it is ‘lot’s went good’ and I am happy again. Thank you so much for your visit, at a uniquely apposite [apt in the circumstances or in relation to something.] time.”
Great to know I was in my right place.
