plug so that I couldn’t use it in case it started to dangerously spark. A very helpful friend came over and took it all apart, and said I should take it to the lamp shop and see if they would fix it. I was there next morning, and the fellowat the counter sold me two little black switches (in case the other lamp soon needed it) , and a 3-way bulb. When I got home, no bulb in the bag! The receipt showed that I hadn’t paid for it, so I went out hunting for this special bulb. The second shop, a hardware store, had a helpful man who quickly found what I needed. Once home, I called my friend and he was soon kneeling on my sofa and fastening it all together and to the wall. It is now strong and perfect, with little time spent, little money spent, and much gratitude for helpful men and women … who treats me like an aunt!
