Hired Erik John to install our sinks, old and new in our renovated kitchen. I gave him some spare parts as well. He said I could phone as I had questions along the line. Tonight I was struggling with removing the water filters from our system. I phoned him and he said to turn on the tap, to remove the pressure. They came off so easily where before it was a major struggle. Having that resource at the end of the phone line is gold.
Last night at church someone asked for ideas about how to deal with recurring fears in his day. People responded immediately with very recent, practical ideas they use in their own life. It was a very responsive and heartfelt service.
At a gala dinner a toddler was well attended to throughout the meal, especially by a grandmother. Lucky parents having that kind of backup.
A friend came over to help remove the arborite counters from our kitchen. I had taken out the screws last week, but it took some free, innovative and bold thinking and action to remove the countertop.
We posted an ad for the old countertop and someone came and took almost all of it. Some of the pieces were roughly cut from the counter. The installers took the last 3 pieces. A win-win.
A grandmother, mother and young daughter visited us a few months ago. They were living in social housing in the north island and felt hemmed in and not in their right place. They were very open to a spiritual shift. It happened. A new marriage is pending to a remarkable friend the mother’s known for her whole life. They are moving in a few months to a new life to a dynamic city they know well. Everyone is thrilled.
Loved being able to add to the stories these two were sharing. It changed the conversation significantly, becoming a deeply moving exchange.
