Today as I was doing morning chores, I remembered that my son in northern Alberta said that he would be mailing down to me two pair of work boots for the Olde Town Shoe Repair shop to fix for him. Because I was going out, I put a note on my mail box “Please leave parcel” so that if it did happen to come today, the mailman wouldn’t take it to the Post Office for me to go and get. When I came back in the early afternoon, there was a medium-sized, heavy box by the front door. I called Mike at Olde Town and he made an arrangement to get the box of boots from me. This son will be visiting me in Victoria in mid-September, and can fly home with them, hopefully good as new.
Very grateful that this all worked out so fast.
Engaging students to vote
Loved Murray Rankin’s idea of hooking young voters in high school.
Recording this candidates responses to thoughtful questions at garden parties has really caught on. It truly leverages important moments of conversation.
