Great location contributes to garage sale success
Driving home with my daughter about noon today, we stopped in at a garage sale on Gordon Head Road, a very prominent thoroughfare. A couple living in Langford shlepped all their stuff to their friends’ home for this garage sale ( great location.) They had good stuff, and did very well. We got a few useful, good quality items including a lovely watering can, super biking gloves and hand powered flashlight.
Here’s an interview with Will, the lovely host of the garage sale, sharing how he made his stays in Victoria so successful. Including taking a friendship with a girl to the next step of living with her, and now having her move back to join him in Australia.
Had our first dinner on our newly resurfaced deck, on the first day of summer. Just loved it.
Earlier in the day I was watering a couple of our trees with a hose and humming bird came within 30 cm of me drinking from the mist of the hose. He came back several times. It was a beautiful experience.
Having an eye for value at the side of the road
About 5 years ago we found a small clump of daisies at the side of the road. We picked them up on our walk and planted them at the front of our property. We’ve since moved but see that they’ve flourished year after year.
The service counter fellow suggested, “You don’t need to listen to that sensor. You can tell when to change it, by the flow of the water slowing down.”
The WGW is the free advice to those who might listen which could save a significant amount of money. ( They bought three.)
When it was my turn they sold me what I needed which was $7 less that what they quoted on the phone.
Sweet moments at the entrance of a dept store
Asked a very senior fellow with a white cane just leaving The Bay, ” How successful were you in your shopping?” He said, “Very.”
He said he was also in heaven because he watched his soccer team win in the World Cup. He asked where I’m living. When I said, “Victoria” he said “Then you’re in heaven too.”
