My favourite paint salesman changed lumberyards he worked for. One of his former colleagues told me where he was. I brought in a piece of a desk and using a scanner he was able to match the colour. Tonight I painted a desktop with it. I loved his tips on product and process. Such expertise is such a pleasure to experience, and worth going back to.

I was faced with a challenging HR issue. Someone had not ‘shown’ up as they committed to despite my reminding them. I decided to go ‘beyond’ blame or criticism. It wasn’t easy, but they came through on a subsequent invite few weeks later. They were relaxed, helpful and positive.
When walking along Lockside Trail last spring I was given a quick reminder about respect by a mother deer with her sweet wee fawn . She just stamped her hoof to tell me she needed more space. I heeded her request quickly and appreciated her caring, love and intelligence, qualities essential to life and harmony. There is room for all life in the universe.

Another time we stopped and talked to workmen who were digging out a basement to make it brighter, more liveable space. Turns out a century ago Victoria officials said that any basement higher than 6′ 5″ would be taxed double.
