Locking her keys in her car while she was at the grocery store, turned into an opportunity for a local angel to help out..
Shared an idea for a customer appreciation night for a local business. The owner listened and then crafted a more personal, thoughtful, supportive approach that would work show her support and appreciation in an authentic and spiritual way. I love a conversation that builds possibilities.
A relaxed and enjoyable dinner at Sabris Indian Restaurant. Although we stayed past closing , there was a sense of ease and patience. With few patrons we were able to change seating arrangements to enhance the conversational possibilites.
Good to hear so much laughter this holiday.
We left our car with a back door unlocked, and the keys in the ignition for an hour in a mall at night, and came back to find all intact.
I sat beside a fellow at church for the first time. He’s such a class act. Gracious and open. The few things he does say are heartfelt and worth holding onto. Interesting to find new territory in such a familiar place.
Sang ‘So this is Christmas’ at a Christmas singalong. We taught people the chorus and they joined in beautifully, some knew the whole song. We’ve been invited to sing it at another Christmas party.
Went to a Solstice Party and got to talk with three people I hadn’t talked to in months.
Listened to a concert pianist playing in a Salvation Army Chapel on a Saturday night. I’d never been there. The sight lines were good, the music so powerful and passionate. Good to hear the pianist interact the audience more than she did a few years ago.
I had a good talk with the spiritual director of the downtown centre. Their intent to have more sharing of stories was encouraging. They need some help in making it happen.
Bus connections between our homes are easy for our daughter. We’re just minutes apart, or beautifully walkable in 50 minutes.
Throwing snow balls on a late night misty walk . I hadn’t heard the flat sound of snow balls hitting the pavement in years.
Seeing our exterior Christmas lights.
Having the joy of sharing spiritual ideas with receptive people.
In a moment of inspiration, I looked at a household repair/ adjustment problem without blinds in a new way, and solved a problem I’d been messing with for over a year, in a minute.
An email request for payment, resulted in a request to more paid work to be done.
Creating a list of projects we’ve done this year, and mailing it our Board, resulted in an offer to sit down and talk about it from a very thought board member.
Moving past opinion and advice…
Went to Home Depot to get some clips to hold Christmas lights to the eves. I asked the greeter who assured me that all stock had been sold, and the closest outlet may be 20 minutes away. I started walking out, and then thought I’d ask someone else, who took me to where they had a lot available.
