Yesterday, I had the honour of speaking with an individual who makes a living off what she loves. When I asked what her secret to success was, she stated simply: “Life is all about getting to know yourself. Find out what makes you tick, what inspires and excites you. Once you have discovered this, your life’s mission is then to fulfill your new found purpose.” Such a simple and straightforward statement, and yet I’d never comprehended it with such clarity. This lesson is the new compass to my life’s direction. Thank you, friend.

A neighbour saw our lawn sign for a Green candidate, did some research and is voting for him.
Walking past an elementary school at start-up time, I see an endless loop of cars dropping off children. Today I talked to a grandmother who walks her grandson to school each day because he is autistic. How wonderful for both of them to have this time, this opportunity together.
Have a meeting at RRU on Saturday morning. Tried to car pool, but to no avail. Called transit info and got great directions and will use 3 buses to get there, with time to spare. I see this as an adventure into new territory.
Talking once or twice a week with a couple of visiting ESL students studying here is illuminating. The questions they ask about familiar words and concepts makes me think about my own language in a fresh way. ( What is the difference between ‘watch’ and ‘look’, ‘may’ and ‘might’ and ‘would.’ Seeing their growing confidence and comfort level in bringing fresh questions about their experience, keeps conversations vital.
Learned how to un-sync our laptop, from dropbox. It’s been a question I’ve wondered about for months.
