Just started working in an apple orchard today. It’s hard work — thinning, but I really enjoy it!
Today, I could see myself getting better, and that went well.
I didn’t get a black eye even though I hit my eye on our towel rack so hard I almost passed out.
A heart piece of Fernwood is the Fernwood Inn.. a place for all ages
One of the things I’ve found is that what creates success isn’t so much intelligence, knowledge or creativity (although they help) but persistence. Sticking to things really is the key. I just overcame a problem with my scooter. I’ve worked on engines all my life and yetthis little bike had me tied in knots. Nothing made sense. The symptoms didn’t add up. I asked around, tried this and that, and replaced a few parts. I wasn’t getting anywhere and was ready to sell
the thing for parts.
But I gave it one more go, and this time found out what was wrong. A hidden, five-cent rubber O-ring was behind it all. What a glorious feeling after all that to overcome the problem. The solution not
always easy, or obvious, but if you persist success eventually comes.
Homeowner efforts to improve their homes:
Taking photos of heritage buildings in Victoria, and regularly updating these records gives a great perspective on local efforts to preserve our history. People’s efforts at keeping up their homes, old and new.. and restoring where possible…. gives me hope.
First week of work went really well, and here we are again at Monday. I am so incredibly excited to fall into this gig – so far it proves to be just the right amount of challenge, and is loaded with a great team.
