What’s Gone Well Today ® at School
What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.

Nope…Not happening… Might as well go home cause i am Not…! Yes that’s right I am not going home from school I will go home pack my weekend bag and go back to school i MIGHT come home you know cause i will miss home but i will ask for home work if needed..!
Yesterday we painted like elephants except we do not have trunks so we put the paint brush into our mouth it did not taste good and bits of wood got in our teeth. For our first master piece we did abstract and then an actual painting still with the brush in our mouths after to finish of the paint we finaly got to paint with our hands witch was nice for awhile.
Also today Michael Mitchell came to our school and sang our favourite song the black fly song and we knew all the words to that it was great!
Thanks but sorry i did such a short post it is a busy day bye for now.! 🙂
🙁 We have to write a little bit because we were singing with Michael Mitchell. And then we sang with our guitars and he sang with us!
We painted an abstract with our mouth. We watched a video of an elephant painting and we were inspired. I can’t believe elephants can paint!
I loved this week!
Urrrrrrgggggggggggggg! No No and No. I said No do you understand no. I know you might be wondering about why I am saying no. Well the years are too short, the months are too short, the weeks are too short, the days are too short, the hours are too short, the minutes are too short , the seconds are too short, and finally and I mean finally the miliseconds are way too short. I am panicking and someone has to do something about it. THE HOURS ARE TO SHORT !
Well in these short hours we did characters. You will not believe it. We are so lucky (here we go) an elephant can paint! As for we are learning about elephants. So we got to draw the picture of what the elephant was painting. The elephant painted the picture in Thailand. If you want to see this video you can go to You Tube and type in Elephants painting you can click on the first one and you will be shocked. My mom was so shocked she shared it on facebook! Me and Ms.Newton are so shocked and we are still shacking our heads.
In these very very very very did I say very short hours we glazed our clay pots. Ms.Newton goes to some art classes and she shares what she did with her art class. She shared with us that she made some clay pots and cups it sounded really fun so we all made clay pots first we pinched them ( I made a heart clay pot and a round clay pot) and then we waited a few days and we then glazed them (painted them) now we are going to go one by one (by table groups) and see how the “kiln” looks like and watching Ms.Newton putting the clay pots into the “kiln”. (The kiln is where you fire the clay pots. The clay pots where really fun to make!
(This is the nervous part) on Friday we are doing our Canadathon test. I know that I will get all 25 questions right. We are doing the Canadathon to raise money for our school. We also win prizes if we raise over a hundred dollars.
I know the hours are extremely short but its worth it spending time with your class. I had a Spectaclur week 🙂
It was such a spectacular week that as the kids were leaving on Friday, they were planning what we could eat and do if we all stayed for the weekend! The list included pancakes, hamburgers and cookies that we could make with the help of Leon’s grandmother. We would also watch a movie, paint pictures and play with clay just to begin with!
The highlights this week included learning about what we could do to make a difference. We were honoured to share pictures from Operation Smile in Cambodia and they got us thinking about what we could do. We were surprised how little things like saying something nice to someone or helping someone if they were stuck would really make a difference to them and it also makes us feel good!!
It was fun to glaze our pinch pots because we got to talk with each other when we were painting. Sgraffito was a highlight as well. It takes so much patience to etch designs but the process is truly a pleasure. The students all put so much effort into their work!
In Characters, the kids wrote about what they could do to make a difference. It was truly an inspiration to read what they had written and to experience their commitment to putting so much effort into their writing. They even made smiles out of clay and made prints from them.
A SPECTACULAR week!!
Yum pancakes with chocolate chips I made them once by myself it was delicious. By the way…… Did you know that oh and that there is an elephant named Ms. Newton oh and …….. Sorry I just I can’t stop talking Awesome post 🙂
Can I have some pancakes with chocolate chips too? YUM!
Wow!I had so much fun in Robotics this week. I made a robot and his name was Luongo bot and for short I can call him Lou bot . I got a certificate from my teacher. She also gave me two Luongos. I had a great week 🙂
Wow this week has been going fast. We have been smiling all week. We even used clay to make a smile then we used red paint to print them. We made smiles because we were writing about making a difference and we did some research on an organization called Operation Smile. My teacher’s daughter is in Cambodia right now helping children who were born with deformed mouths. She is helping them to smile again!
This week we also did sgraffito in art. We have been patiently scratching designs on the elephants we drew and coloured last week. We have too much fun!
