What’s Gone Well Today at School is a question, in fact a movement designed to shift our thinking, to bring out the best in our own experiences at school, with the friends and new faces in our classes . We’re encouraging students and teachers to share experiences that have gone well. We hope that people will find more highlights in their day, and share what they are enjoying in their learning and playing at school.
I Had So Much Fun This Week!
I really like your post William. I also liked that we got to go to the Vancouver Aquarium!
This week was awesome iced with amazing and sprinkled with phenomenal!!! On Tuesday we went to the aquarium. We saw an arapima but nobody knew what it was… Except me I knew what it was!:) We also saw a baby monkey. He was sooooo cute assuming it was a he… On Saturday I had a sleepover with my BFF Jessica. We barely got to sleep but around ten I did she stayed awake until twelve midnight!!! Talk about late huh. Today it is really early dismissal at eleven ten. Then I will have a friend over to play dj hero 1 and 2 and then rockband 1 through 3 with the keytar!!! (a keytar is a combination of a guitar and a keyboard plus it is extremely hard to play). We also did gym with Mr. Mackay. First we played tail tag then basketball skills (dribbling). On Wednesday we taught the gr.5s about What’s Gone Well At School. They enjoyed it, I got Riley as my partner. He kept saying what do I write??? Just after he got it he hit a button and it was gone. Now you know why my week was awesome iced with etc…!!
Jeepers- Creepers! Time is moving so fast! I barely have any time to have fun, but I still got some time to go to the aquarium.There were lots of things to look at in the aquarium.There were so much to see!! I saw a dissected salmon it was slightly disturbing,we also got to eat our lunches and watch the beluga whales, when we were eating divers in air tanks came and clean the tank I wave hello to him.
We also saw bats their really quick at flying
they suck the fruits so quick they also have a fish it was gigantic!!!!! I saw a cacao tree there was something on it I don’t know what it is,but I do know that there are beans in it.
Yesterday we went to the aquarium! It was AWESOME. We learned about salmon and their predators. Humans are their worst predators beacause we eat salmon and all other kinds of fish. You are what you eat, that’s what my mom says all the time. The best thing we all saw there was cacao pods growing on trees, that’s what chocolate is made from. we were all telling Ms.Newton but she didn’t hear us, she loves chocolate! The other fact I learned about salmon was that one salmon lays about 2500 eggs and when they become fry there are 375 that moved on. After the fries there are smolts and only 30 smolts move on to be adult salmons and only 2 salmon get to be adults beacause they get eaten by predators or they just die. We got to see the inside of a salmon, all of its body parts, it was kind of gross and slightly disturbing. Also did you know that salmon are tracked by satellite? The salmon has to get a hole in its belly button and they put this little thing in there to send a signal to the satellite so scientists can study where it’s going. Also today I couldn’t go to school beacause I was sick I am kind of feeling sad but it’s okay, I had a FANTASTIC AND WONDERFUL week!!!!!!!!!!
You learned a lot about the aquarium. Sounds like you were studying salmon. What other kinds of fish did you see in the aquarium? Did you know how to play tennis before you started this program?

Yogeet I read your post, the cool thing was the chocolate tree it was very interesting to know. Was it gross when you saw the salmon cut open what did it smell like?

Thanks! the salmon was slightly disturbing but it didn’t smell gross. By the way we told Ms.Newton to steal the chocolate but she didn’t.
