Talked to a 20 something who’s open to ‘breaking out’ in his career/ education. He’s coming to town and is open to some new ideas conversations. I may include him in a Power of Personal Story workshop.
Great day for bike riding around town. Loved the connections I got from being so close to the street. On campus today I had several good chats about WGWT. They got the concept.. and applauded the nudge it gave to stay with the negative.
She rocks!
We moved on in the conversation to talk about work drying up… and how he addressed it. ‘ You can’t forget to follow the guidelines/ the instructions.’ The business meeting that he and his wife had was key to this turnaround and saw immediate results.
This deep sharing at this busy mixer was really a WGWT moment.
It was a most astounding event – it was extremely noisy, energetic, fast-paced, well-organized. (No microphones.) The contestants displayed a good deal of courage, ingenuity, quick-thinking, agility, grace – and even some musical talent. Each team worked well together. The audience, most of whom were young, some of whom were dressed in interesting costumes, loudly cheered for all teams. Home supporters added some extra flag-waving & yells (it was always LOUD). Everyone knew the rules: after the 4 rapid claps, the hall was quiet, ready for the next performance.
Did we laugh? No. I think it was partly because we couldn’t hear all spoken words. Did I cough? I started to, but it was quickly brought under control and I didn’t have to leave the room. Did I appreciate being asked out? Yes – thoughtful friends are one of life’s richest treasures. Would I go again to the IMPROV? Not likely, but I’m glad I went. I was part of a demonstration of wonderful creativity, wild enthusiasm, and rock-solid love.
