Last Friday was one of my darkest nights, very tough:(
hopeless, helpless.
In the morning
I made my coffee, put my lipstick, got dressed, caught my bus, and went to work…
I received an email from the immigration office out of the blue.

About a week after the photo was taken, both Orio & Lil’ Wonky Guy were in our backyard, only Orio was closer to our back door and not on the grass. LWG was eating the sunflower seeds I placed for him, and Orio was sitting by me in his usual Zen observation mode. It was sunny, and he decided to go to a sunnier spot on our driveway. He flopped down not two feet from LWG and rolled and stretched, reaching his front paw towards LWG. Orio couldn’t really see him, but continued to stretch, roll and enjoy the sun. LWG stopped and observed Orio, then continued to eat. Stopped for a moment again, and then continued to eat. Orio was the first to move away, and he sauntered away past LWG towards the vegetable garden. LWG continued to eat and made his way up the cherry tree when he was done.
Harmony reigned and nobody’s fur was ruffled.
Such candor was really surprising and appreciated.
What lead this stranger to be so open to us?
Drove to Cattle Point – mom and I walked a little way and stared at the Bay for quite a while, listening to a child play the outdoor piano in the distance. Otherwise quiet all around. ducks, seagulls and birds all around.
