Conversations that matter...
I thought of a carver friend up-Island and phoned him on the spot.
Today I learned that the log was picked up by a friend of his and taken to a carver in Nanaimo.
Good works will come from this.
On our walk to the store the pups were off leash on Ansell Ave. Jean Luc ran up the sidewalks to the door of every house we passed by. After a few moments he turned around and ran back to us. Looked like he remembered the rewards from his recent walkabout of last week, and thought this was worth a try.
Loni made them a vegetable pie and a small cake in appreciation.
We’ve been dog sitting for a few months. The two little dogs love to stop and sniff and then run and catch up.
As we left last evening to walk them to the grocery store, I said that I wished we had one of those long retractable leashes.
We took a different route home and at the side of a yard, where students leaving town for the year, leave stuff
they don’t want, was one of those leashes hanging from a lamp. We took it and found that it works perfectly.
Absolutely amazing! I presented in front of around 200 people yesterday together with Immigrant techies Canada about Canadian communications standards in interviewing for foreigners and outsiders.
I just woke up today and got like 30 Linked-in connections from people thanking me for the session yesterday!
Met some cool people as well. Very good experience.
