We have a tendency to be critical of govt services, I think. Today I was reminded that generally people DO want to do a good job as I very quickly was able to get my bc drivers license, insurance (2/3 the cost of alberta!) & application for bc services card all done by lunch time. It wouldn’t have happened with extraordinary individuals providing fantastic service!
Reminds me of many gatherings by the lakeside firepit at the family cottage in northern Sask. Close your eyes…feel the warmth of the fire and imagine the scent of the water.
Victoria has made my days, since I’ve arrived! Surprisingly quick job opportunities has arisen, visiting the harbour has been as enriching as it was when I last visited in the early 2000s and people, including my hosts, have been exceedingly kind:)
