Big part of success is being in the right place with right spirit and tools. We were at Herman’s Jazz Club and the band had played for years with my father in law, Lance Harrison.. so on the spot I asked if we could tape a few of their thoughts on Lance.. Here’s the priceless piece we got
where i hiked Quarry Rock. At the top there’s a cliff of rocks that perch
out and everyone sits to enjoy the amazing view. I sat there for about
45min just thinking about things, .. then for a good 4min, i watched 2
eagles soar in a circle. The sun was shining on them and it was peaceful.”
I had so many meetings at work this week I couldn’t finish my marking. I had one class worth of poems left on Friday night and couldn’t deal with them on the ferry coming home; I was totally beat. I did some other, less taxing marking yesterday. Still couldn’t deal with the poems. But I had a long sleep in the morning and gave myself permission to read and be quiet. This was a good thing as I’d been grumpy as a bear with a sore head.

This morning I woke up and could deal with the poems! I am back to being a good mood and I had a grand walk this afternoon. The lesson seems to have been, it’s okay to be gentle with myself. I still haven’t quite finished the marking, but I have been present with the day and have come to the conclusion that it’s okay for me to stop at this point.
Hallowe’en thrills come in all sort of experiences.. from surprising places
a turning point

I lost my mom in the 30th of August. This date was a turning point of my life. If your mom is still alive, please call her and say how much you love her or please go and hug her before everything is late.
Looking her recent photos are so painful for me. While I was coming back to Victoria, I chose one of her black and white photos. It was taken in her marriage ceremony. I can look at this photo without pouring tears.
My mom gave my name “Nilgun” to me. My name means “blue as the sky”, my other name means “free”, my dad gave it to me, my surname means ” white bird”. This is what my Mom and Dad wanted for me. I am flying through the sky literally (around the world, many times) and I am freely following the path which is most important to me. That is what my parents wished. And I believe I will find peace after the loss of my beloved mom.
